Lies is a song I wrote in 1991, during the Gulf War, shortly after the success of Operation Desert Storm was declared. I recall walking into the shop at work and seeing my coworkers all celebrating and raising their firsts in celebration. I also was proud of our military but couldn't help but think what must being going through the mind of a fallen soldiers father walking into work and seeing the same? I couldn't possibly know. Lies is written through the eyes of a proud, frustrated, angered and heart broken, Gold Star parent.
