You guys ever checkout FlyBass for your fly fishing gear? I usually buy my rod and reel combos and theBlockhead Popper bodies from there. Brad Miller is a good guy and finds good equipment at good prices. I’m eyeing a 6wt. Timber Hawk combo for traveling and possibly to carry along with when out wading with spin gear. Real helpful guy that loves smallmouth fishing.https://flybass.com
Wow! That should be a great trip. You chasing Bones or Tarpon? I hear Tarpon can really blowup the surface. Please share your experience when you get a chance. Hope you tear them up.
I fly fish mostly saltwater but have done freshwater and will do more on the Kish next yearActually will be fishing the Cozumel Flats next Friday on a guided trip

Happy to count myself as a member of this “sub-club.” Used to fly-fish quite a bit when I was younger. Over the years, I’ve been more of a spinning guy but still toss a Wooly Bugger now and then. Now that I’m semi-retired, I’m hoping to find the time to re-hone my chops. I guess I’m sort of the converse of SH. That is, I rarely toss anything other than a streamer.
Same here. I think basically when I feel there’s a good chance at a topwater bite is when I start grabbing the fly rod more often. Kinda lazy, I guess. Ha!

I will fish spinning gear, but my preferred method is fly fishing.
