June 8: Time to Regroup!

Got out a couple hours before work. Ran into my buddy Jim as he was leaving the creek and we made a couple swaps. Jim waded the creek upstream and picked up a couple smallies on a Clouser that he tied up over the weekend. I chose to wade downstream and pretty much (once again) got my butt kicked.

I started off with a topwater popper and switched over to a tube after deciding there was no interest for the top. There was also no interest for the tube, but did manage to pick up one of those 8" pike on a reel-in that saved me from a skunk. Water levels are dropping but I still found the creek to be a bit more stained than I would have liked. About the only good thing I took away from this outing was the fact that this was my first official wet-wade of the season.

I plan to take the next week or so off and regroup and comeback with a refreshed attitude and a vengeance for success. Time to up my game.
