ISA NW REGION OUTING

Met with some of the ISA boys at the Cherry Valley Cafe for some morning eats and a bit of smallmouth talk. There were 5 of us seated at the table. New member Joe and his guest planned to hit the north branch of the Kish east of Belvidere, while myself, Eric, and Brian, chose to float the main branch from Cherry Valley to Kish F.P.

The top water seemed to be the only thing working on this day. There is nothing wrong with that. I LOVE top water! Eric, Brian, and myself had a pretty good day with Brian landing 4 smallmouth and a 2 pike, Eric with 6 smallmouth, and I ended the day with 11 smallmouth. All three of us lost a few fish plus we had nice fish on but failed to bring to hand. Joe and his buddy found the big girls up north and each boated 18's. Joe also landed a 17 and had the big fish of the day at 19 inches. Nice fishing!

Acouple other members , Pat & Bill, slept in and skipped out on breakfast hitting the river during the late afternoon/evening hours. Pat got 4 smallies all in the 14 to 15 inch range while Bill brought to hand 7 smallies and 3 pike. All the smallies came on crawdad imitations, and the pike came on Buzz Bait.
