BACK ON TRACK

The last few weeks around the house have been pretty freaking hectic to say the least.

I had to jump thru a few hoops and do a little dance, but I'm happy to say that all is done, all is good, and that's enough on that, and now back to chasing smallies.

Today I decided that my time spent on the river was going to be time spent getting to know an old friend. Just me, the river, smallies, and nature, nothing or nobody else.

I hit the south branch and was pleased right off the bat to see the Kish running clear with about a 3.5ft. to 4 foot clarity. I could not find a topwater bite after about a half hour of trying, so I switched over to a tube and started finding action with smallies holding close to channelized current, sitting on the seams, and current breaks off of timber. I also found them at the bottom of deeper holes if I were to drag the tube super slow along the bottom.

I was only out for about 2 1/2 hours but did manage 6 tough fighting smallies.

The largest of the bunch went 15 inches.

So freaking glad to be back on track and able to put all my focus back onto my search for "BRUTUS", the 20" Kiswaukee River Smallmouth.

Pics of the day.....
