New Water

Had to take a day off work to take advantage of this nice weather.

Todays weather was partly cloudy with a high of 75.

Loaded Brandy up on top of the van and headed out to search for Brutus. There was a bit of a breeze blowing but it wasn't all that bad. Brandy and I made our way up stream and of course I was tossing a tube and a popper looking for action. Nothing was hit either. I set out on this outing to be successful and up to this point I was starting to get worried. I decided to tie on a buzz bait and first cast had a nice 15 incher blow up on it. Cool!

This stretch of the lower Kish is a stretch that I (or Brandy) have never fished before. I must say that I was VERY impressed with this stretch. Why the hell it took me so long to fish it I'll never know. This stretch probably has more and some of the deepest water I have seen on the Kish. I am excited and looking forward to fishing and exploring this stretch in the future.

To keep things short, it was a good day. No Brutus, but still a good day. I ended the day with 9 fish.

5 smallies @ 15+ inches, 3 smallies 13 inches or below, 1 dink largemouth.

I had a couple pike chase after a popper but they could never find the plug.
