It's raining and there's a bit of a chill (48) in the air with a strong breeze.
Normally I would not go out on a day like this, but I did purchase me some rain wear so why wait?
Hit the lower Kish in search of that first smallie of the year and the rain gear
seemed to pay off. I went to a little eddie and tossed my first cast with a purple w/red flake tube along the current seam and got a hit & miss right off the bat. Tossed it back on the second cast and nailed me my first smallmouth of the season that taped @ 17.5 inches.
Great way to start of the year! this was my fifth time out this season and todays catch beats my previouse "first of the years", making this 17.5" smallie the earliest smallmouth I have ever brought to hand, and I believe the largest first of the year smallie.
