The month of March started off with a bang by kicking off the smallmouth season at the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance's, "Bronzeback Blowout". There was about 200 other smallmouth fanatics in attendance and a good time was had by all. A substantial amount of money was raised for river conservation in the state of Illinois. What a GREAT group of guys and gals!
I nailed my first smallie of the year on March 13th that taped at 17.5 inches on a day with a water level reading of 6.83ft. which would end up being the lowest reading for the month.
March 2016 has been my most successful smallmouth March since I began chasing the mighty bronzeback, ending the month with a total of 6 smallmouth brought to hand.
