Got out after the storms and hit the north branch of the Kish in Boone county. I was a bit surprised that the levels did not go up as much as I thought they might, and really surprised that the clarity was as good as it was at about 18 inches.
Fishing was tough. I started out with a topwater (spin gear) working my way downstream and only had one blow-up. Reached an area that was too deep to wade so I tied on a tube and worked my way back upstream. The was a honey hole upstream of where I put in at so I wanted yo be sure to hit that before it got too dark. Second cast into the honey hole produced a nice fat 17.5 inch smallmouth. The honey hole is an area that is about 50 yards in length and I know for damn sure that there is more that one stinking fish in there. But, the one was all I could manage. Pisses me off!
Still happy to have landed this guy.......
