Flowers & A Smallmouth

With the rivers running high I decided to take a hike out to see the Virginia Bluebells and figured that I might as well bring the rod along with and try to snuff out a smallmouth or two fishing what ever eddy areas I might run across during the hike. I did manage to pull in one little guy (12").

I continued the hike to the bluebells and was pleased to see the sea of blue flowing between the trees of the forest

I continued to hike the trails and wanted to make my way to an area that has some backwater and try a few casts to see if maybe a pike was hiding back there. No such luck.

Made my way back and was happy to have landed the one smallmouth that I did with the river running so high. The Virginia Bluebells are always with the hike to see this time of year.

Pictures don't do it justice and I would recommend a morning hike to view the bluebells.

They really look extra nice with the rising sun and all covered in dew.
