High Water Spot
I'll keep this short. The river is finally getting down to some doable levels.
I decided to visit my High Water Spot for a nice little wet wade.
I was not surprised to see the river looked like chocolate milk as I stepped foot in water. I casted around the put-in for a little bit with a green pumpkinseed colored tube which was Texas-Rigged (TR) with a 1/16oz bullet weight. No luck.
Tied on the magical Whooper-Plopper and slowly made my way upstream.
No luck.
Tied the TR tube back on and made a cast to a fishy looking spot and nailed a beaut just as the rig hit bottom. The smallmouth taped at 19.5 inches.
Unfortunately the section I was wading is kind of a difficult area for any good photos. The only spot I could find was on a steep bank that had a tree root protruding from it to wrap my goose-leg tripod on and it was in the shade with the sun in my background. Not good for pics.
This is what I ended up with....

I did pick up one other smallmouth that went a hair over 16 inches. I lost another later on ending the day 2 for 3. I enjoyed myself.
That 19.5 inches was AWESOME!!!!
Thank you.
