Had a busy weekend but finally got the chance to get out and into the water on Sunday evening.
I probably stepped foot in water around 4:30pm with a Blockhead Popper tied onto the end of my line, and I landed the first smallie of the day at 4;33pm which taped at 17 1/4 inches. Great way to start the outing.
I stuck with the Blockhead and picked up two (2) more smallmouth. 1 @ 16 inches the other @ about 13 inches.
I lost two (2) smallies that half-heartedly attacked the popper, which resulted in poor hook sets. Lost two (2) poppers to the trees on the backcast. Stepped out of water right around 6:45pm.
Not a bad outing for a couple hours and sticking mainly on the same little stretch of water.
